  • We discussed Point of View and how understanding the opposite opinion and point of view can help us strengthen our evidence and examples. See what we did below!

ART!
  • Sophie: This week we started some new art where we made Ugly Christmas Sweaters!
  • Emma: We talked about what all ugly Christmas sweaters must have. Our success criteria is:
    • 3 or more colours
    • A winter/holiday theme
    • A middle focus like a drawing of something (deer, tree, hot chocolate)
    • Pattern somewhere on the sweater
    • Something special like bells, lights, tinsel
    • Optional: a Christmas joke or pun!

  • Rhea: We also made a step by step drawing of a Christmas Tree!

SCIENCE:
  • Preston: we learned about Physical and Chemical changes/reactions. A physical reaction is when it can usually be undone and chemical is when it is hard to undo it.
  • Rhea: we tested the solubility of different things like: m&ms, toothpaste, vinegar, pepper, toilet paper, tissues, honey, syrup, rocks, and hot chocolate mix!

MATH:
  • Avery Mo: we did word problems all week in math. Some kids worked on Grinch problems that were very challenging and other kids worked on other Christmas related word problems.
  • Raahil: We listened to the story "The Elves and the Shoemakers" and then solved some story problems in charts that were about the story. We also had a Christmas word search at the end of the math problems.
